There are several great new features in the current Flash Beta Player 8 (Maelstrom - 8ball).

If you are working on MacOS X, you can use my tool swfTo8ConvX to convert your published Flash movies ready to run in the Flash Beta Player 8.

Just DOWNLOAD the stuffed application, open the disk image and drag the application file to your Application folder.
Now drag 'n drop your Flash movies onto the application icon and press the "Convert" button.

Attention:
The source files will be overwritten!
You are using swfTo8ConvX at your own risk!
